“Mi Negocio en Línea” abre nuevas oportunidades digitales para negocios turísticos de la zona rural de Rosarito

PLAYAS DE ROSARITO — Thursday, September 17, 2026. Small businesses, tourism ranches, producers, restaurants and tourism projects in the rural communities of Playas de Rosarito now have new digital tools to promote their services, connect directly with prospective customers and expand their market presence through “Mi Negocio en Línea,” a program developed by the Consejo Consultivo de Desarrollo Económico de Playas de Rosarito (CCDER) to support community-based tourism and strengthen the rural economy.

Through the project, CCDER reached its goal of developing 50 websites for local businesses, service providers and tourism projects, helping bring digital tools to a significant portion of the rural tourism offering identified throughout Playas de Rosarito.

Beyond meeting this goal, the program’s broader impact lies in bringing digital transformation to small businesses that now have their own online platforms to showcase services, locations and contact information, while integrating tools such as maps, WhatsApp, social media and digital tracking.

César Rivera González, President of CCDER, emphasized that the program is designed to help reduce the digital divide and create better conditions for the benefits of tourism to reach businesses and communities in rural areas, which represent an important part of the destination’s tourism offering.

“When a small business in a rural community establishes an online presence, we are talking about much more than a website. We are opening a new door for that business to be discovered, promote what it offers and connect directly with new customers. That is the real impact we are seeking: for technology to become a tool that creates opportunities and contributes to the economic development of our communities,” Rivera González said.

The development of Mi Negocio en Línea was led by consultant Fernando Toledo, founder of Terra Viva, and reached businesses and tourism projects in Cañón Rosarito, Cañón Alisos, Cañón El Médano, El Descanso, La Misión, Primo Tapia and San José de la Zorra, among other areas of Playas de Rosarito.

One of the program’s highlights was the work carried out with the Kumiai Indigenous community of San José de la Zorra, where a digital ecosystem was created to provide greater visibility to the community and its tourism and local product offerings.

This effort includes:

  • Centro Ecoturístico Tipai Wamp
  • Viñedo Kumiay
  • Red de Senderos Kumiai
  • Artesanas Kumiai de San José de la Zorra

The new digital presence strengthens their ability to promote their services and connect directly with visitors interested in experiencing what the community has to offer.

Rivera González noted that this progress represents a first step in a broader digital transformation process for small businesses and tourism projects throughout the municipality.

“We want digital tools to give a ranch, producer, restaurant or rural tourism experience greater opportunities to compete, increase its visibility and attract visitors. By strengthening these businesses individually, we also strengthen and diversify Playas de Rosarito’s tourism offering,” he added.

With the completion of this phase, Mi Negocio en Línea goes beyond the creation of 50 websites by bringing more rural businesses and tourism projects into the destination’s digital promotion ecosystem and expanding opportunities for the economic benefits generated by tourism to reach more businesses, families and communities throughout Playas de Rosarito.
